Peter's second letter begins with the now aged apostle opening his heart to remind the Church to be diligent to grow in our walk with Christ. He then speaks of being an eyewitness when Jesus was transfigured into glory on the mountain. He finishes the first chapter by saying that we have an even stronger proof of God's word and work available to us in Bible prophecy, exhorting Christians to pay attention to it "as a light that shines in a dark place."
